Norfolk Constabulary: Lynn burglary warning

Police are reminding householders in King’s Lynn to ensure their homes are kept secure following a number of house burglaries in the town.

Eight burglaries have been reported in the town and North Lynn in the past two weeks, including a break-in at Mariners Way reorted yesterday.

One suspected burglar was arrested on July 30 after residents at Old School Court in the town apprehended an intruder in one of the properties.

A local man has been charged with burglary and is currently remanded in custody.

Other offences have also occurred in the North End, Columbia Way, North Lynn and London Road areas.

Town Inspector Paul Durham said: “In a number of these cases, offenders have opportunistically gained access via an open window or oither insecure entry.

“It’s important that people remember to shut and lock their windows and doors, especially those on the ground floor, and make it difficult for thieves to operate.”
