Norfolk Constabulary: Thieves target outboard engines

Police are appealing for information following a series of outboard engine thefts in South Walsham.

The incidents happened between 10.30pm on Thursday 9 January and 3.30am on Friday 10 January at moorings on South Walsham broad off Fleet Lane.

Five boats were targeted with Honda, Mariner, Suziki, Yamaha and Mercury engines stolen.

Police are linking the incidents and boat owners are urged to be vigilant and ensure the necessary security measures are being taken to help protect vessels which are often targeted at this time of year.

Norfolk Police has outboard engine security covers available for purchase which come in three sizes; small (up to 6ph) 27.75, medium (up to 15ph) 31.75, large (up to 40ph) 35.75.
