More than 50 door supervisors were inspected during a London-wide operation by the Security Industry Authority on Friday, April 26.

The Metropolitan Police led the operation, supported by Security Industry Authority (SIA) investigators and local police units across the capital s boroughs.

The operation was the latest instalment of the Met s Operation Condor, which saw officers deployed across boroughs to combat licensing issues such as unlicensed door staff at pubs and clubs. Inspections were at 11 venues in Ealing, Lambeth and Westminster.

In total 58 door supervisors were checked. Of those, 57 were working legally by holding valid SIA licences.

After checks at a bar in Ealing, an individual is suspected of working without an SIA licence. Enquiries are on-going.

SIA Head of Investigation Jacquie Parker said: This is the first phase of the 2013 Operation Condor, which is aimed at combating illegal activity in the night time economy across all London boroughs. We are pleased with the overall results.

Although investigations are on-going into one door supervisor, the results show that security operatives and those employing them are adhering to the law.

We will continue to carry out our partnership work with the Metropolitan Police, in order to ensure public safety.
