Kingdom News Kingdom providing security for new IKEA Norwich site

clip_image002Kingdom is pleased to be providing security to the new IKEA store that is under development in Norwich. Kingdom is currently providing static guarding for the construction site1 and will be providing retail guarding2 once construction of the store is complete later in the year.

Kingdom currently provides retail security3 to all 18 of IKEA s UK stores (including Belfast), and two distribution centres. Kingdom first started providing security to IKEA4 in the UK in 2010 alongside three other security companies, and last year was announced as the sole security provider to IKEA in the UK5.

Kingdom provides IKEA6 with a unique security service, tailored specifically to match the IKEA environment and work ethos, and includes manned guarding teams7, mobile patrol8, key holding9, customer service and reception teams10 as well as loss prevention and return on investment analysis.

IKEA s new store in Norwich will be the first new IKEA store to open in the UK for six years.

Due to open later in 2015 at Sweet Briar Retail Park off the outer ring road in Norwich, the store will be the first of three new IKEA Order and Collection Points and has been described as experimental.

The new style stores will be much smaller that IKEA s usual warehouses the Norwich store will be just 19,000 square feet, around one tenth of the size of IKEA s stores in other parts of the country. These Order and Collection Points are being created with the aim to make shopping with IKEA easier and more convenient and accessible, connecting the experiences customers can currently have with IKEA in-store and online, allowing customers to shop whenever, wherever and however they want. IKEA s new Norwich store is described on the IKEA website11 as follows:

The new format will act primarily as a planning studio, bridging the gap between online and in-store shopping, giving customers local access to knowledgeable co-workers, the product range and home furnishing ideas and inspiration.

Customers will be able to speak with home furnishing experts for advice and support with making more complex purchases such as kitchens or wardrobes. There will also be the opportunity to view products and collect orders made in the store. The Norwich Order and Collection Point will feature a caf and will have a limited range of products that customers can take home on the day.

Commenting on the new store, IKEA UK s Country Manager, Gillian Drakeford, said in an article on the IKEA website: We already have an established online presence in this market but currently our customers in Norfolk have to travel more than two hours to our Lakeside or Milton Keynes stores to see the product range and get planning and design advice.

By introducing an Order and Collection Point in this market we are hoping to bridge the gap between online and in-store shopping and offer customers a more personal service locally.”12

IKEA14 is a multinational group of companies that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances and home accessories, and since January 2008 has been the world s largest furniture retailer. The company was founded in Sweden in 1943 by the then 17-year-old Ingvar Kamprad, and the acronym IKEA stands for Ingvar Kamprad, Elmtaryd (the name of the farm where he grew up) Agunnardyd (his home town in south Sweden).

IKEA now has 373 stores in 47 countries. Their vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people , and their business idea is to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them .

Kingdom is an established retail specialist with a dedicated retail division15 that works in partnership with some of the biggest names in retail to reduce shrinkage and provide a return on investment (ROI).

Established in 1993, Kingdom has over 20 years industry experience and has become one of the largest privately owned companies in the UK within their areas of service expertise.

Specialist Investigation Training

It will be illegal to undertake any surveillance or investigation activity without holding an SIA Professional Investigators Licence, expected to be announced by the Home Office in 2015 and implemented by the Security Industry Authority.

Our range of specialist training programs have been uniquely developed to prepare the student for the reality of covert assignments in the commercial world.

We train the student to the highest standards possible using relevant up to date methods that reflect real operational situations. The structure of the training is based on covert operational assignments in the UK and overseas from 1995 to present and our involvement training varied law enforcement agencies internationally.

Our training is based on reality, not idealism.

The student will be given tuition based on real covert investigation and surveillance situations. ESS are not just a training company; we are operational at the highest levels of specialist security and investigation.

Every assignment we undertake is debriefed and analysed to benefit our training programs. The result is a training system that empowers the student to effectively undertake assignments and achieve a viable commercial presence.

The bespoke training programs are accredited to Level 3 and 4 with the leading investigation qualification awarding body Industry Qualifications (IQ)1.

NOTE: All SIA endorsed Professional Investigation Level 3 courses are still awaiting final approval from the Security Industry Authority for PI licence application. At present, no training provider is able to guarantee that the qualification, in its current form, will be sufficient proof of competency to apply for the Professional Investigators Licence.

ESS will offer students free of charge, and by distance learning, any minor top-up to the existing qualification that may be required.

ESS Consulting have attended meetings with the SIA and Home Office officials and it is our belief that our IQ Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators will be accepted as the standard required for licence application.

On successful completion of a training program, students will receive a nationally recognised qualification but more importantly they will have gained skills based on reality which will enable them to work within a demanding and highly skilled industry.

Training with ESS means you will have continued professional development opportunities and become a Professional Investigator, not just an operative.

Sia is making a film starring Maddie Ziegler

The film, titled Sister, is based on a short story Sia wrote eight years ago, and has been developed with the help of children s author Dalles Clayton.

The elusive singer revealed the news at the Venice Film Festival while speaking through her trademark blonde wig.

She said she was initially embarrassed to tell anyone she wanted to make a film for fear it would be seen as a vanity project, but began to have more confidence in the project after directing Chandelier .

Maddie Ziegler channels Sia in 'Big Girls Cry'Maddie Ziegler channels Sia in ‘Big Girls Cry’ The Australian singer said the screen writing process was similar to song writing.

For me, the process was basically, I work out the movie. I ll act it out, I ll have the dialogue in my head i can t be bothered to learn Final Draft. I m not a technical person.

Like, when I sing, I just want to sing the melody and write the lyrics. I don t want to have to do production, which is very technical, I don t enjoy that, The Hollywood Reporter1 quotes her as saying.

Sia made her directional debut with last year s Chandelier alongside Australian filmmaker Daniel Askill. She has also co-directed the Big Girls Cry and Elastic Heart videos.

Dancer Maddie Ziegler and Sia attend GrammysDancer Maddie Ziegler and Sia attend Grammys The singer s decision to use Maddie Ziegler in her work has been criticised by some, claiming the 12-year-old dancer is portrayed in a sexualised way in Sia s videos2.

In January, Sia was forced to apologise3 for her Elastic Heart video featuring Ziegler and Shia LaBeouf after some viewers complained the video brought back unwanted memories of abuse.

I anticipated some pedophilia!!!’ cries for this video.

All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play these two warring Sia self states, she wrote on Twitter.

I apologize to those who feel triggered by Elastic Heart .

My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody.
